Meet Harley Young

A dynamic 17 year old kart racing prodigy, poised at the threshold of an illustrious career in motorsport.

Harley started his racing career as a competitor in the Global Karting League Northern and National Championship, Harley embodies the spirit of modern, eco-friendly motorsport, while simultaneously championing the cause of fostering.

Harley Young (HY Racing)

Based in North Lincolnshire, HY Racing is the sole trader business that manages the racing career of teenager Harley Young.

  • Mission: To provide driver development and marketing opportunities for sponsors through high-level motorsport.
  • Philanthropy: Harley uses his racing platform to raise awareness for fostering in collaboration with North Lincolnshire Council.
  • Team: The business is family-run, with support from his father Phil (Commercial Director) and mother Katie (Administration).

Harley is a driver managed by Mairon Motorsport Management with his father Phil Young working alongside Harley as the Commercial Director of HY Racing.

Achievements

Harley’s journey started with a deep passion for speed and precision.

Competing in the 2023 TKZ Championship, he demonstrated exceptional skill behind the wheel of electric karts.

His unwavering dedication and natural talent position him as a rising star in the world of karting.

For the 2024 season, Harley raced in the Sprint Series IKR championship at Fulbeck kart circuit in the Rotax Senior category with Vaus Motorsport finishing 5th in the Championship, throughout the year he was a serious contender at the front of the grid challenging for the lead.

Aspirations

Off the track, Harley is equally dedicated to his education, with aspirations of a career in Motorsport Engineering. His completion of a specialised STEM course in motorsport exemplifies his determination to fuse academic achievement with his racing ambitions.

Race Series

The Goal – British Touring Car Championship

Harley is determined to keep developing his race skills and progress to the British Touring Car Championship. From what’s been seen so far, we’ve no doubt he’ll make it.

2025 Legends Cars Championship and Elite Cup for 2025

Harley joined the championship as a guest & so started at the back of the grid. Following several successful races gaining a number of places, he proved he had the pace and race craft to compete.

2024 Sprint Series IKR championship in the Rotax Senior category

Racing with Vaus Motorsport, Harley finished 5th in the Championship.

2023 Total Karting Zero Northern National Championship racing e-karts

Raced in the Total Karting Zero Northern National Championship racing e-karts. Winner of driver of the year in the Junior Light category.
